TRIP TO TURPENTINE CREEK

Our Trip to Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge
My Husband and I just celebrated our 10 year Anniversary.
We took a trip just the two of us with out the kids for 3 days to Branson, MO, and Eureka Springs AR.
We visited lots of cool places, and seen some beautiful country side but I have to say the place that will stick closest to my heart on our trip was Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Eureka Springs.
My husband isn't a big cat person but that all changed once he visited the facility.

They rescue all kinds of animals but specialize in Big Cats! The Bio storys you read that is posted on the front of each enclosure is mostly sad.
If it wasn't for Turpentine lots of these Bears, Bengals, Cougars, Lions, Leopards, and Tigers would of died or been Euthanize. Lots of the cats came from breeding facility's which involved lots of inbreeding, and poor living conditions, or exotic pet owners who could no longer care for their pet, and found them a home, or treated them with cruelty.
Their goal is to have each animal in their very own large open enclosure, as close to their natural habitat as possible.
Since the facility is non profit they rely on donations, the funds from people visiting the animals, or purchases from their gift shop. All money goes to the animals.
They use this to properly care for them, and to build natural, and holding enclosures on a total of 480 acres.
They can only build when funds are available.
After we left the first thing my husband said was if we came into a large amount of money the first thing I will do is buy a bunch of metal from the company I work for and donate it to them to build on.

I made a video that contains all pictures, and video that I took with my digital camera. It took me about 3 days to complete.
I have also included some of the animal bio's in there as well, and Incorporated with music.
View in full screen to read all the animal bio's
You can also visit their site to learn more about them and see more of the animals and their bio's that is not included in this clip at:
