Rare Antique Sailor Monkey Cookie Jar by MandiLeighs on Etsy

Rare Antique Sailor Monkey Cookie Jar by MandiLeighs on Etsy
This is an Original lovely Sailor Monkey Cookie Jar.
It is in Wonderful condition. No Chips or Cracks. There is 4 Crazing marks under the glaze but is normal for its age.
Measures approx. 10 1/2" tall X 9" wide.

THIS IS NOT THE REPRODUCTION MADE IN JAPAN!

I have not been able to find out which company produced this jar as it is unmarked.
I am marking this lovely Cookie Jar as rare as I cannot seem to locate another in its exact design. The only ones I am finding is the Reproductions.

There is several of these jars that was made in the 1940s-1950s in Japan. They are engraved JAPAN on the bottom.
The last picture I provided for you is one from Japan. you can see the differences from this one and the reproduction. These are the differences between the two.
The eyes on this jar is different from the eyes on the reproduction. The Reproduction also has blue and yellow in them as well, and this monkey does not. Plus of course they are engraved with Japan and there is no makers mark on this piece. A lot of the American made company's during this time period did not always mark their pieces.

I am assuming this piece is from the 1930s-1940s Prior to Japans Reproduction.

The Reproduction vintage sailor monkeys are currently going for $50.00 So dont miss out on this rare and lovely original piece.

The main color of the cookies jars were brown with most jars having a matte finish.
