Ok so we dont really get to go out much, we dont drink, and I was mad at my husband for being gone all night Friday so I couldn't go bowling with my friend. Then my Mr. was gone all day Saturday and made me 4 hrs late to meet up with my friend.

So I decided I would be gone all night and Kay Stars, and I had a craft night. She worked on a necklace I worked on a dream catcher that pissed me off. Then we thought you know what we get rid of everything we make. So we decided to make BFF Necklaces for each other. Here are the necklaces that have been made each for other with the love of friendship.

Concealed Revealed Art Auction for Battered Woman

I have completed my piece and donated to the YWCA for the Concealed Revealed Art Auction in effort to stop violence against Woman.
This opportunity that has been presented to me is a great honor especially since I am a battered woman of the past.
I can relate to these woman in so many ways.
When I was 15 yrs old I met that someone special I thought. By the time I turned 16 I was convinced to do things I never would of done. Not only did it hurt me but also my family. I then became pregnant with my daughter Myranda. When living with him he tried to push me off the roof of the apartment building we lived in when I was 3 months pregnant.
Remembering what my mother had taught me and remembering she herself was also a battered woman her words rang in my mind. NEVER LET A MAN LAY HIS HANDS ON YOU!
I fought back and saved not only my life but my unborn child's life.
Through lots of counseling, and restraining orders against him I was able to escape.
Her Biological maker (only professional words I can find) has not seen her since she was 2.
He had lost his rights because of physical and verbal abuse twards her. He also had kidnapped her 3 seperate times.
Now I am 32 and married to a wonderful man for 10 years now. He adopted my daughter when she was 5.
It took me years but with the help of my husband I was able to go places alone once again without fear.
We now have a total of 3 wonderful children and I can truly say I am happy.

I hope this story helps inspire woman in a desperate situation to seek help.

I will post the necklace I have designed for this charity once it is complete so you all can see. Below is a brief summary of the event.

Concealed Revealed art auction to benefit the YWCA Center for Safety and Empowerment, an organization here in Topeka that provides free emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy and other services to over 3,000 victims of domestic and sexual violence each year.

The Concealed Revealed Art Auction, scheduled this year for April 23, was conceived by a group of Washburn University art students in 2003 as a way to involve the art community in the effort to stop violence against women. Hey Mandi I want to see that fairy one and the other green stone necklace Kay has in person sometime - I can't decide which to get! Maybe both? LOL
Need to pay bills first though but would love to see them!

Sure thing dear dont let me forget.
I got more which I haven't done yet along with other stuff and unfinished projects since I am easily side tracked.
